About This Plant

Athi, also known as Cluster Fig or Indian Fig, is a traditional fruit tree valued for its sweet, nutritious fruits and medicinal properties. The tree produces small, round fruits that grow in clusters directly on the trunk and main branches. Ripe Athi fruits are soft, juicy, and naturally sweet, making them ideal for fresh consumption. Grafted Athi plants typically begin bearing fruits within 2–3 years under proper care, making them an excellent choice for home gardens and orchards.

Athi thrives in warm tropical and subtropical climates and grows well in fertile, well-drained soil with full sunlight. The tree is hardy, easy to maintain, and produces abundant harvests several times a year. Rich in dietary fiber, Vitamin C, calcium, iron, antioxidants, and essential minerals, the fruits are enjoyed fresh, dried, or used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Its nutritional benefits, ornamental appearance, and dependable productivity make Athi a valuable addition to any fruit garden.
